But it’s important to keep your password updated and secure, especially if you use your Notes app for work or school. Here’s a quick and easy guide to changing your Notes password in just a few seconds.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap “Passwords & Accounts.”
- Select “Notes” from the list of accounts.
- Tap “Change Password.”
- Enter your current password, then enter your new password.

- Tap “Accounts.”
- Select the account you want to change the password for.
- Tap “Change Password.”

That’s all it takes to change your Notes password on iPhone or iPad! Just remember to use a strong, unique password that you don’t use for any other online accounts. And if you’re ever worried about someone accessing your notes without your permission, you can always enable two-factor authentication for an extra layer of security.
Tap the Settings icon in the top right corner of the screen.
Under the “All Accounts” section, tap the account you want to change the password for. Tap “Password.” Enter your current password, then enter your new password.

You can also change your Notes password on a Mac by opening the Notes app and going to Preferences > Accounts. Select the account you want to change the password for, then click “Change Password.” Enter your current password, then enter your new password. Click “Save” to save your changes.

Tap the Settings icon in the top right corner of the screen, then tap “Two-Factor Authentication.” Follow the prompts to set up two-factor authentication for your Notes account. Did you know that you can also lock individual notes with a password? Just open the note you want to lock, tap the Share icon in the top right corner,
Scroll down and tap Password & Security, then turn on the “Lock Note” toggle switch.
Enter a password to lock the note, then tap “Done.” Now that you know how to change your Notes password, it’s time to update your other online accounts.
