You can connect to your Chromecast screen by using the standard Android “cast screen” feature or by enabling guest mode on Chromecast. However, this might be dangerous if someone is able to exploit the connection and mirrors their own device onto your phone. Is there a way to defeat such an attack? If you’re rooted, yes. And of course, this must be done before you connect your Chromecast.

Download the app on Google Play: Disable Screen Mirroring on Android. Open your device settings and scroll down until you find the newly installed “Disable Screen Mirroring” item. Enable or disable screen mirroring as desired. You can use this application to keep screen mirroring enabled, but set it to do nothing when activated. This way, the screen mirroring connection is not terminated, but it isn’t displayed either. You can also use this app to automatically terminate or disable screen mirroring when you power off your Chromecast. This will prevent all kinds of attack vectors and remove any risk of someone else gaining access to your device (and its data).
